Uber partners with traffic police to train driver partners

Taxi operator Uber today partnered with the Traffic Department of the Coimbatore City Police to train over 100 driver partners in basic life support training skills.
The session held at Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital (KMCH) included CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation), first response training and other lifesaving emergency procedures that would help the driver partners be more equipped to handle the situation and road accident victims.
In his address, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) S. Saravanan said the training would be helpful for the passengers as well and they could also help the traffic accident victims. “During any such incidents, they can call our control room (100). We will do the needful to provide green corridor for ambulance,” he said.
Bhavik Rathod, general manager, (south and west), Uber India said the company was happy to be a partner with the police department and KMCH for a noble cause.
