With Nilgiris District Superintendent of Police Murali Rambha ruling out any political link to the murder and dacoity at Kodanadu estate of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, police investigating the case made an attempt to inquire with a former maid of the late Chief Minister in connection with the case.

A team of police located one Lakshmi, who served Jayalalithaa for some years, in the estate area. However they could not get any information thing from her, since she appeared to be “mentally disturbed and talking unrelated things”, police said.

Murali Rambha, who already conducted inquiry with Sayan, a key accused undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Coimbatore, has ruled out any political link in the heist, but said that money and valuables were the motive behind it.

Meanwhile, police have installed 13 CCTVs in and around the bungalow and decided to have 24 hours patrolling.
