An eighth standard student was found hanging dead today in his hostel room near Tirupur.

The 13-year-old Jagadeeshan was a student of a private school on the outskirts of Tirupur. He had returned to hostel from a holiday today. He was found dead on a nylon rope in his hostel room, the police said.

The district and police officials rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.

Police suspect that the boy might have taken the extreme step because he was not interested in studies due to personal problems.
