Around 160 participants from 17 institutions took part in a storytelling competition held at Shanti Ashram, Kovaipudur. The theme was “A violence-free childhood – every child’s wish.”

The aim of the competition was to make children confident enough to express their views about the present situation in the society. The participants were divided into two groups; the first group comprised students from 4th and 6th Standards and the second group from 7th and 8th Standards.
Prizes were distributed by representatives of the sponsoring organisations. Vijayaragavan, head of the Youth Leadership Programme, Shanti Ashram, said, “All the children performed really well.”

At the end of the program, all participants took the Swachatha Pledge.
