25 candidates, including BJP State vice president, file nominations

A total of 36 nominations were filed by 25 candidates in 10 assembly constituencies in the district on the second
day on Monday.
In Mettupalayam four candidates have filed seven nominations, Sulur five nominations by four candidates, Thondamuthur one, Kaundapalayam six from four candidates, Coimbatore South three, Kinathukadavu three, Pollachi two and Valparai three nominations from one candidate of DMK.
Of the total candidates, 22 are male and three female. The candidates are from BJP, CPIM, MDMK, Hindu Makkal Katchi, Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam, official sources said.
Prominent among those filed nominations today include BJP State Vice President, Vanathi Srinivasan and C Padmanabhan of CPIM from Coimbatore South, Arjunraj of MDMK from Singanallur, R Shivakumar of BJP from Pollachi and Palpandi of DMK from Valparai.
