Four men were arrested by the city police for allegedly selling banned lottery tickets in various places on Thursday.
According to sources, A.Thangapandian (41), S. Liyakath Ali (68), A. Santhosh Kumar (25) and T. Manoj (32) were in possession of banned lottery tickets at different places in the city.
Around 50 lottery tickets and an amount of Rs. 620 were seized from the accused and cases were registered under the Lottery Regulation Act. While Liyakat Ali, Santhosh Kumar and Manoj were arrested and remanded, Thangapandian was released on bail the same day.
