Tamil Nadu CPIM unit secetary, G Ramakrishnan today alleged that both the ruling AIADMK and DMK were resorting to ‘bribing voters’ as they had lost confidence in winning the elections in a fair manner.

The Election Commission in Tamil Nadu has seized Rs100 crore as of Wednesday and claimed that the majority of the amount was seized from those belonging to DMK and AIADMK, Ramakrishnan told reporters here.

This clearly indicated that both the parties have lost confidence in their performance and also election manifesto and instead believe in bribing the electorate to garner votes, he alleged.

The State stands first in India in bribing voters, which resulted in dissatisfaction among the first time and neutral voters, he claimed.

Despite taking efforts to prevent distribution of money, the officials failed to stop such act across the State, he said and accused the ruling party of misusing the official machinery in its favour.

Though both the Dravidian parties managed to rule the State alternative for five decades in the absence of a strong alternative, the emergence of DMDK-PWF-TMC Alliance, will provide a much required option for the people,
paving way for a change and coalition government in the State, he said.

Due to the globalisation and privatisation policies adopted by the Centre, the agricultural land has gone down by 14 lakh acre, which resulted in the reduction of productivity, leading to utilising the land for real estate and
other business, he pointed out.

Stating that both the Congress and BJP governments failed to adopt the M S Swaminathan recommendations on fixing the prices for agricultural produce, Ramakrishnan said that if their alliance came to power, a target of 10 percent growth will be set in the five years, for which an action plan also has been drawn.

What was the use of providing cell phones, if the parties failed to protect the agriculture sector, the backbone of the Country, he queried
