Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami has assured the Kongu Global Forum that he would initiate action with regard to airport expansion plan.

Palaniswami was addressing a delegation from seven western districts of the State, that called upon him and Municipal Administration and Rural Development Minister S.P. Velumani in Chennai to discuss the developmental needs of their region during which airport expansion was given top priority, KGF Convener Vanitha Mohan said in a release today.

“Water was another area of grave concern which has not only hampered farming operations but also impacted day-to-day living for the people and the delegation sought action for increasing the ground water table which has dipped to alarming levels,” she said.

The delegation also met Electricity and Prohibition Minister P.Thangamani, Education Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan and Chief Secretary Girija Vaidhyanathan.

KGF is an entity formed for harnessing the collective energies of representatives fro the districts- Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal and the Nilgiris – and channelising it towards developmental activities of the region.
