B. Tech student drowns to death at Pykara Dam

A second year B. Tech student of a private engineering college today drowned in a dam attached to Pykara Power Project, some 25 kilometres from Ooty.
According to the police, 21-year-old Vignesh, a resident of Indira Nagar in Bengaluru, and studying in Sri Krishna Engineering College, along with his college mates and friends from another college had gone to Pykara this morning.
All the five got down in the dam, with waterfalls, to have a bath. But Vignesh slipped and fell deep into the water and drowned.
The body was retrieved after two hours by the local fire and rescue personnel.
