This year, The Covai Post proudly congratulates Mrs. Riddhi Vijay, the dynamic Founder of Sri Swatham Veg Restaurant, for being honoured with Home Icon Award from Twilight Creations. This Home Icon Award is in the 18th year and shines a spotlight on those trailblazing women who dared to dream beyond the ordinary and carve out their unique path in the world. Recognized as a change-maker in the Food & Beverage sector, Mrs. Vijay’s journey is a paragon of passion and perseverance.

In 2022, on the auspicious day of Vijayadashami, she launched Sri Swatham, a multi-cuisine vegetarian restaurant with a noble vision: to serve wholesome Indian food that resonates with ancient traditions. Every dish at the restaurant pays homage to pure ingredients – free from soda, MSG, Vanaspati, synthetic colors, preservatives, chemicals, and reused oil.

Mrs. Vijay attributes the creation of Sri Swatham to her Guru, Sri Santosh Theerthar, an advocate for spreading positive energy through nutritious food. Her faith in Akkalkot Maharaj Swami Samarth and her Guru has been her guiding light in this endeavor.

The success of the restaurant is evident. Within a year, Sri Swatham has fulfilled over 300,000 orders, offering patrons the warmth and flavor of home-cooked dishes.

The essence of Swatham is beautifully encapsulated in its name, a fusion of the Sanskrit words ‘Swad’ (Taste) and ‘Aham’ (I or Soul). It stands as a testament to the belief that “We are what we eat”, emphasizing the importance of food not just as sustenance but as an integral part of our being.

When we asked Mrs.Vijay about her unwavering passion, she revealed that it’s the heart-warming stories from customers that fuel her dedication. She shared instances of elderly patrons who, after dining at Sri Swatham, no longer experience nausea or discomfort, in stark contrast to their previous experiences elsewhere. The familiar taste of home-cooked meals brings them immense comfort. These stories serve as a constant source of motivation for her to continue giving back and fortify her commitment to delivering high-quality food.

Sri Swatham is more than just a restaurant; it’s a hub for budding ‘Foodpreneurs.’ Employees are urged to share innovative ideas, with top ones realized. Those driving positive change and brand enhancement are viewed as growth partners, with potential to manage an outlet, reflecting true entrepreneurship. Mrs. Vijay foresees these Foodpreneurs uplifting the brand and benefiting their communities.

Gratitude fills her heart, especially for her family and her husband, Mr. Vijay Rajendran, whose unwavering support has been a pillar of strength, enabling her to chase and realize her dreams. She also expresses profound appreciation to Mrs. Sumathi Srinivasan, the visionary behind Twilight Creations. Her dedication to empowering and celebrating women entrepreneurs has catalyzed positive change in the community.

As we raise our glasses to Mrs. Riddhi Vijay and Sri Swatham, we eagerly await more culinary innovations, delightful flavors, and shared triumphs in the years to come.
