The regional-level student convention of Computer Society of India (CSI) was hosted by Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College in Coimbatore recently. The convention was attended by 536 participants from college in Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar, and Tamil Nadu. Events and competitions like paper presentation, street coding, treasure hunt, best manager, quizzes, crazy jockey, gaming, Linux master, and web designing were organized.
S. Vishnu Potty, Vice President and head of Coimbatore operations of Cognizant Technology solutions, was the chief guest. He is the vice chairman and chairman elect of the CSI Coimbatore. Dr. N. R. Alamelu, principal of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College presided over the function.
CSI is a non-profit organization that was created in 1965 by computer professionals, to share their views and ideas. Currently, CSI has 72 chapters all over India, with 511 student branches and over one lakh members, including software developers, scientists, academicians, project managers, and Information Technology (IT) vendors.
