Kochi: The CPM State Committee on Friday criticised Dewaswom Minister Kadakampallly Surendran’s offerings in Guruvayur temple recently.
A report prepared by the State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that the minister should have taken care to avoid the controversy in a meeting at Thiruvananthapuram.
The issue invited criticism within and outside the party, the report said.
No temple Ministers in the past have caused emabarassment to the party In such a manner. He should have followed the practices of his previous Ministers.
Surendran also agreed that he should have been more careful. He had visited the temple with his family members and had made offerings to God and this was hailed by the BJP.
