Eephant tramples brick kiln worker to death near Coimbatore

Coimbatore : A brick kiln worker from Assam was
trampled to death by a wild elephant at Periyathadagam in the rural limits, police said Monday.

The 22-year old Saritul Islam hailing from Mayong village in Morigaon district of Assam, had come out of his room near the kiln to answer nature’s call late night on Sunday.

The elephant, hiding behind a bush suddenly appreared and attacked Islam and hearing screams, some workers came out and chased away the elephant, they said.

With serious injuries on head and a leg, Islam, who was working there for the last three months, was taken and admitted to the Government Hospital. However, he died without responding to treatment, police said.
