Fresh summons to Tamil actor and composer

A City police station today issued summons to Tamil film actor, Simbu and composer, Anirudh Ravichandran to appear before January 2 to enquire about the ‘beep song’ reportedly containing vulgarity and denigrating women.

Earlier, both of them were asked to appear before the Race Course Police Station on December 19. However,
T.Rajenran, father of Simbu, by a letter had sought one month time forappearance, while Anirudh, thorugh his lawyers, had stated that he had neither composed the song nor sang it and hence had sought the FIR against him be revoked.

The FIR was lodged based on a complaint from All India Democratic Women Association about the song. The Race Course police station issued fresh summons for both to appear before it on January two
