Homegrown electric vehicle company, GAURA Electric, is launching its new high-speed electric scooter with two variants, the G5 and G6, offering a range of up to 150+ kilometers. These models are available at a starting price of Rs. 99,000 and Rs. 1,25,000, respectively.

During the launch event, Mr. Gowtham R, Managing Director of GAURA Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd, emphasizes the company’s focus on safety and the development of an indigenous high-speed scooter.

The scooter can achieve a speed of 65 km/hr and cover over 150+ kilometers on a single charge. It features unique functionalities, including State of Charge (SOC), Distance to Empty (DTE), Time to Charge (TTC), CBS Braking System, Side Stand Alert, Reverse assistance, Cruise option, and Battery Temperature monitoring.

GAURA takes safety and reliability to a new level by employing Lithium Ferrous Phosphate chemistry, making the scooters ideal for Indian climatic conditions. The e-scooter’s motor, battery, and lights utilize IP 67 grade waterproof components. The Signature Style Big lights provide a distinctive appearance with a robotic aesthetic and excellent focus. The 100% LED lighting system ensures a broader, safer, and more efficient lighting range.

Mr. Rajesh V, Chief Executive Officer of GAURA Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd, shares additional insights, stating that the scooter is entirely developed by the GAURA engineering team, requiring three years of development. All components are designed by GAURA, with the core component, the battery, being entirely manufactured by GAURA Electric in-house, marking a GAME CHANGER in safety. This represents a revolutionary leap in battery technology, ensuring that GAURA ELECTRIC scooters are not only cutting-edge but also incredibly safe and reliable.

Various competent auto part manufacturers in India produce the remaining components, and the complete scooter integration takes place at the 35,000 sq.ft factory premises in Palani. The G5 and G6 model e-scooters are available at over 100 outlets across Tamil Nadu.
