A picture of an official meeting held by the Union Ministry of External Affairs, which has the backdrop of a giant computer screen showing ‘free porn videos’ in the search option of the browser is going viral and causing embarrassment to the officials.

The photo has two officers, including a woman, on the dais behind whom the giant monitor having the Google India search engine is shown throwing up the search history, which includes ‘free porn videos’, besides Bollywood news.

This means the person who uses the system or laptop that was used in the meeting had obviously searched for free porn videos frequently which is why it showed up in the search history after logging in.

Rajiv Tyagi, a former fighter pilot at the Indian Air Force, posted the picture on Facebook on Wednesday with his comment that reads, “Someone in the Union Ministry of External affairs is fond of free porn videos. Google is just reminding them during a conference, that they haven’t visited their favourite site in a while.”

The post elicited a huge response that some 650 plus people have reacted, 283 have shared and a number of them have recorded their comments.

In fact, people in his friend list had a field day, joking and making spontaneous comments laced with sarcasm and pun, especially on the two words – external affairs.

While one of them cautioned that one has to be beware of technology as it reveals whatever you have been watching so far, another said that mighty google should not be messed with.

It is understood that the two officers on the dais were Joint Secretary of e-governance division and Director of Global Cyber Issues, both attached to the ministry.

On the possibility of photoshopped version, Tyagi replied to a post that only the words, ‘Union Ministry of External Affairs’ was added to indicate the provenance of the photograph, which was otherwise unedited.

An IT expert says, “The browser history cache has not been cleared which is why the search that was made for free porn videos has thrown up when the user had used the search engine while remaining logged into his/her email. The search history would not have shown up had the user used google after logging out of email.”

Though as some pointed out that there was nothing to be apologetic and the laptop used to project the screen may not belong to the two officers, it only meant they have not attempted to run the presentation before the start of the event and delete the history of the websites and pages they visited to be saved from the embarrassment.
