MDMK General Secretary Vaiko today urged police personnel from Intelligence Section (IS) to give the correct number of people who attended the public meeting held here.
At the start of his address to a mammoth public meeting, highlighting the Common Minimum Programme of the four-party Peoples’ Welfare Front (PWF), of which he is the coordinator, Vaiko said that IS sleuths have the habit of reporting reduced numbers of participation to their bosses.
This was mainly done to appease the ruling party and save the day for the police, he said.
However, Vaiko said that by giving reduced numbers in this meeting, the personnel were doing injustice to the rulers, as the wrong numbers would confuse them and lead to their defeat based on this assessment.
