On the 4th day of the Navratri festival at the Isha Yoga Center on October 18, students from Project Samskriti presented a Jugalbandi musical performance, blending Carnatic and Hindustani music, which tugged at people’s hearts. Jugalbandi, in tradition, refers to the duet between two musicians in Indian classical music.

Captivating the audience, students from Project Samskriti opened the performance with “Jagadeeswari Brahma Hridayeswari” in honor of the divine feminine. This was followed by a popular Jugalbandi titled “Devi Brova Samayamide,” which means “Devi! Now is the time for you to protect me.

The program included special guests such as Mrs. Annapoorani Duraisamy, the President of Zakir Naickenpalayam Panchayat; Mrs. Vijayarani Bharathiraja, the President of Narasipuram Panchayat; Mr. Aruchamy, the President of the Coimbatore District Agriculture Association; Mr. B. Veluchami, the Director of Velliangiri Plow Manufacturer Company; and Mr. Murthy, the Councilor of Alandurai Panchayat.

Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore is hosting daily celebrations during the Navratri festival, featuring awe-inspiring cultural and folk performances. Mr. Vivek Sathasivam will perform music tomorrow on the 5th day of Navratri. All are welcome to join and witness the unfolding of a profound Indian cultural repertoire.
