Senior BJP leader Dr. Subramanian Swamy today called upon the Hindus to bury their differences and stay united to combat the jihadis, who are ‘dreaming of holding the majority to ransom.’

Dr. Swamy was speaking at the launch of a documentary film about the injustices meted out to Hindus in Tamil Nadu. Hindu Munnani leader Rama Gopalan launched the documentary and Dr. Swamy received the first copy. The launch was attended by Sushil Pandit, co-founder, Roots in Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Swamy said it was time for the Hindus to keep aside differences among themselves, clear their confusions, and stand united to combat Islamic fundamentalism. ”The jihadis are working with a clear goal. They have been aligning with various forces from time to time in the state and have been taking forward their agenda,” he said.

”It is unfortunate that in a land where they (jihadis) are in minority, are dreaming of holding the majority to ransom. However, when clarity prevails the confusion will end,” he said.

Citing the example of Australia, where minority Muslims were strictly told to follow the common civil code, Dr. Swamy added, “Hindu unity movement must start from Tamil Nadu and move upwards.”
