Kottayam: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday blamed social media for creating division in society.

A propaganda is on to create an impression that Kerala is a disturbed State. In the contrary everything is normal in the State and there was nothing to worry about, he said.

There should be some system to check such misleading propaganda. The government will explore options to find ways to counter such moves, he said while taking to reporters after convening the all party meeting to restore peace in the State.

To the general opinion raised by political parties was that the police was ineffective and unresponsive, the CM said that the allegation was baseless as police was doing its duty. However, the government will ensure that there is no failure on the part of police, he added.
