Kotagiri students’ regional winners of TCS IT Wiz quiz

J. K. Faizan and K. Sudharsana from St Jude’s Public School, Kotagiri in the Nilgiris district, won the title in TCS IT Wiz, claimed to be India’s biggest inter-school quiz, organised by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), here.

The regional champions walked away with an iPad air each, while the runners up, M. Sharath Chandar and A. S. Harikrishna from G. K. D. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Perinaickan Palayam, Coimbatore, won an iPad mini, each, along with specially designed trophy and medals.

Over 400 students from 71 schools in Coimbatore, Coonor, Erode, Kotagiri, Salem, Mettupalayam, Pollachi and Tirupur, participated in the quiz.

The six finalists who had made it to the regional finals, after the written preliminary round received an array of prizes from TCS ranging from laptop bags, headphone, selfie sticks with bluetooth, slipper USB pen drive.

K.Krithivasan, President of the Banking and Financial Services Business Unit, TCS, distributed the prizes.

TCS IT Wiz was held across 15 locations in India – Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Visakhapatnam, making its debut at Visakhapatnam this year.

The results: Winners J. K. Faizan and K. Sudharsana from St. Jude’s PublicSchool, Kotagiri, first runners-up M. Sharat Chandar and A.S. Hari Krishna from G.K.D. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Perianaickanpalayam, and second runners up S. Ajay and Venkat Subramanian from Amrita Vidhyalayam, Nallampalayam.
