Man gives rose to lady politician; forcibly pulled back by party workers

A 26-year-old youth created a flutter by offering a rose to BJP state general secretary, Vanati Srinivasan and holding her hand for a while, at a temple in Coimbatore today.

Vanati and a team of BJP workers had come to the Koniamman Temple to offer prayers on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday today. A young man, believed to be a party worker, approached her and offered her a rose. He held her hand and talked to her for a while.

BJP workers accompanying Vanati Srinivasan pulled the man back.

He was taken to the nearby police station for interrogation and to find out if he was mentally stable. No case has been registered so far, the police said.
