Maoists call to boycott bypoll

The district court premises today witnessed noisy scenes when five Maoists raised slogans opposing electoral system and called for boycott of the by-election in RK Nagar.

The activists – Roopesh, wife Shyna, Kannan, Anoop and Veeramani were brought to the Principal District Court for extension of custody.

They raised slogans against electoral system and wanted the people to boycott the R K Nagar bye-election on April 12.

Judge R Pongiappan extended the custody till April 17 and the accused were taken back to Central Jail.
