Members of the Coimbatore District United Jama-ath staged a demonstration near the South Taluk Office on Tuesday against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

Participating in the protest, A.R.Basheer Ahammed said that ISIS which is currently threatening peace in the world and instilling terror is against Islam and its ideologies.

“They are also brainwashing young minds and using them as suicide bombers and destroying their future,” he said.

Condemning the recent attack in Paris, the members requested that all the countries in the world should unite against the extremist group for the benefit of the world.

“People are under misconception that the ideologies of ISIS are that of Muslims. But Islam never teaches anyone to hurt or kill,” he said.

Basheer also alleged that ISIS is being funded by developed countries for political benefits and this has created a bad image of Muslims across the globe.
