Hari Shankar Verma, on Tuesday, took charge as the fifth Divisional Railway Manager of the Salem Division, with Shubhranshu, the former DRM, remitting office on the same day.
According to the Southern Railways press release, H.S. Verma, of the Indian Railway Traffic Services (IRTS), had joined Indian Railway Services in 1987. He had worked in various capacities at Western Railways and Central Railways and had spent most of his career in the operations branch as Divisional Operations Manager and Senior Divisional Operations Manager in Bhopal.
He has also been the Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai, and the Central Railways for 2½ years. In his capacity as Chief Commercial Manager, Central Railway, he, for the first time in the history of Indian Railways, established a private freight terminal at Nagpur.
Verma last served as Chief Passenger Transportation Manager of the Central Railways.
Shubhranshu, the past DRM, had served for two years and 4 months as the Divisional Railway Manager of Salem Division.
