In order to serve the potential customers, an E-commerce store, that sells online grocery, fruits and vegetables was launched here today.

The initial focus of the onlystaples.com was to target the city and other tier two cities in Tamil Nadu and depending on maturity of the business model in these markets, it will be taken to further cities, including by the way of franchisee model, CFO and Director of the company, Rajesh Keerthi told reporters here.

Stating that the marketing strategy will be based on local trend and focus on middle class and lower middle class, Rajesh said that 10 fast moving products will be stocked in the store and others, like vegetables and fruits will be purchased and sold on day to day basis for freshness.

With an investment of rs.three crore, the vision of the company was to to be among top three online grocery businesses and has potential to take only one per cent shares of the total anticipated grocery online business of rs.1.50 lakh crore across India, he said.

For purchase of vegetables, including organic, it has tied up different farmers in the locality and for business arrangements with top location and product specific dealers, lie spices in Bodi, he said.

The company expects to garmer a business worth rs.three lakh with at least 300 orders per day, Rajesh said, adding that it will charge rs.30 for delivery for things purchased upto rs.750 and free delivery for above rs.750 in 20 KM radius.
