The facebook account of well-known environmental activist Piyush Manush has not only been suspended but also his children have been verbally abused online, courtesy the die-hard followers of self-styled godman Swami Nithyananda.

After Piyush posted a picture of Nithyananda along with his woman devotee on his wall recently in the wake of the much-awaited verdict on the rape case faced by another self-proclaimed guru Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, his followers trolled him, indulged in online abuse and got his account suspended for 24 hours now.

“My intention was only to highlight that this Swamiji has a rape case against him. I sincerely do not care about me being subjected to abuse. But my mother, wife and children are also dragged and abused online,”Piyush told The Covai Post.

He has preferred a complaint with the cyber crime wing in Chennai and is hoping that the police would register a case under the POCSO Act as his children have been subjected to online abuse for no fault of theirs.

Piyush is unfazed by the trolls. “My campaign against Nithyananda will continue. His case is very similar to that of Ram Rahim who has been convicted for rape. Now, I am all the more convinced that these people are demonic and they need to be punished,”he says.
