An angel once appeared before a businessman and offered to help him with two choices to improve his business. In one hand, the angel had hundreds of potential leads. Even before the angel revealed the other choice, the businessman, in a typical hurry to make money, immediately pounced on the potential leads. The angel granted him the wish and disappeared. To the businessman’s bad luck the second option that the angel had was a set of quality leads.

The Coimbatore chapter of Business Networking and Referrals (BNI) is all about passing on potential referrals to its members who are ambitious businessmen.” Krishna Kumar N., Chief Executive, Akarsh Advertising Agency said, while introducing the BNI concept to the 46 visitors who attended the meeting.
BNI is a business and professional referral organization that allows only one person from each profession to join a chapter. This is a unique platform that integrates face-to-face networking with an online social network that spans 58 countries and has thousands of business people as members.

Ever since the Coimbatore chapter of BNI, Excellence, was launched, its members have been attending the scheduled weekly meetings. Currently, the Coimbatore chapter has close to 50 members and it is headed by its president, S. Venkatesh, who is the Managing Director of Gene Macron Media Interactive India Pvt. Ltd. Members are allowed to bring guests to attend the meetings.
At the recent meeting of the BNI, it was announced that in Coimbatore city alone, about 411 referrals were generated.
