Coimbatore : A large number of petitioners had to return disappointed as the weekly grievances day today was cancelled due to the announcement of civic body elections.

The petitioners, particularly women, had arrived at the district collectorate to submit petitions. However, they had to return disappointed as officials announced the postponement of the grievances meeting.

On the announcement of polls, the model code of conduct is in place, they said.
