Following the BJP’s decision not to stage any demonstration in the city tomorrow to lodge their protest against the killing of Hindu Munnani functionary, C. Sasikumar, police today warned of stringent action against those indulged in any type of rumour mongering.

A statement from police department also asked the general public not to get panicky on hearsay.

All precautionary measures have been taken to prevent any untoward incidents and city is brought under total security cover, it said.

BJP State unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan had announced an agitation in the district headquarters protesting against the killing. However, the district functionaries have announced that the workers will not not stage any protest in the city or at any places in the district.
