The district administration on Sunday administered polio drops to more than 3 lakh children in Coimbatore.

The authorities had previously set a target of administering polio drops to 3.20 lakh children in the district, in the 1851 centres, with 1337 in rural and 244 in urban areas. But, officials managed to administer 3,14,449 children with polio drops which accounts to 98 percent of the target. As many as 1,31,770 children from the urban areas and 182679 from the rural regions were given the polio drops, achieving 97 percent in the rural and 99 percent in the urban areas.

They had previously targeted 1,88,386 children in rural areas and 1,32,011 in urban areas
