Poly Medicure, a leading manufacturer of medical devices and disposables under the brand name ‘Polymed’ would soon foray into the renal, respiratory and blood banking segments.

The company would invest Rs. 60 crores to set up a plant for the purpose at Fardiabad in Haryana, its vice-president, sales and marketing, Hemant Bhalla, said. The plant would be operational from the third quarter of next year.

Poly Medicure currently has six plants – four in India and one each in Egypt and China. The company, that recorded 25 per cent growth in sales in the domestic market last year, would add 500 more dealers to its existing network of nearly 1000, Bhalla said.

“The renal, respiratory and blood banking segments are rapidly growing in India due to various reasons such as rise in pollution levels, sedentary lifestyle and bad food habits. Also the increase in awareness of health insurance have contributed to the increase in demand for these services,” he added.

With a turnover of Rs. 395 crores in 2015-16, Poly Medicure, listed both on the BSE and NSE, is aiming to capture three to five per cent market share in the new segment, he said.
