POS installed in CBE, one each in Salem and Erode rly stations

The Commercial Branch of Salem Division, Southern Railway has installed four credit cards swipe machines, commonly known as POS (Point of Sales) in the PRS counters (advance ticket booking centers) of Coimbatore, Salem and Erode.
The Coimbatore Centre will have two POS, while Salem and Erode one each from State Bank of India (SBI).
These POS have been installed over and above the three debit card transaction machines from SBI installed in these railway stations (one each).
The division has identified in 15 more PRS Counters for installation of POS machines soon and the number of machines at each such station would be finalised based on actual demand.
The installation was in line with Prime Minister’s vision of a Digital India, and with a view to assist the public to buy train tickets, enabling them to carry out their transactions digitally/cashless, as per the instructions of Divisional Railway Manager Hari Shankar Verma.
