Eight leading teams will vie for the 53rd PSG Trophy for men at the all-India basketball tournament here from August 27.
Besides, holders Indian Army of Pune, others in the five-day tournament are IOB Chennai, Punjab Police, Customs Chennai, Vijay Bank Bengaluru, Kerala SEB, Arise Steels Chennai and RCF
Kapurthala. Almost all the top national players will be present for the tournament.
The teams will play on league basis, with semi-finals slated for August 30 and finals the next day, according to a statement from PSG Institutions Managing Trustee L Gopalakrishnan.
The champion will get a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, runnerup Rs 50,000, and third and fourth teams Rs 25, 000 and Rs 15,000, respectively. The best player will get a cash award of Rs 10,000.
