Former Tamil Nadu unit Seva Dal President and former MLA, Kovai Selvaraj today accused TNCC president E.V.K.S. Elangovan of taking Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi only to some select pockets, and hence he was not able to assess the real damage of the deluge.

Without consulting senior party leaders or MLAs, Elangovan, selected the areas for Rahul’s visit according to his wish, Selvaraj told reporters here.

There would have been more impact on the party, if the right pockets were selected for the visit, he said.

There was no necessity for distributing relief measures, involving all political parties, since each party would try to gain political mileage out of it, he said, adding that announcements made by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa would definitely reach the affected, without fail.
