Fans of Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth have decided to work against DMDK, a major ally in the People’s Welfare Front (PWF), as its leader Vijayakanth had made derogatory remarks against their matinee idol a couple of days ago.
A clear indication to this effect came to the fore, when more than 2,000 fans, a majority of them being women, courted arrest at various places in Tirupur, by staging a protest demonstration, where Vijayakanth was campaigning.
The demonstrations were held under the banner of Superstar Makkal Kazhakam and according to State general secretary S.S. Murugesan, the fans were shocked to hear Vijayakanth calling Rajinikanth a ‘coward’ during election campaign.
It is heard that the angry fans have decided to work against DMDK in the elections to see its defeat in all the 104 constituencies, where the party was contesting, Murugesan said.
The demonstrations, which were held yesterday in Tirupur, Perumanallur, Vellakoil Kangeyam and Palladam would continue.
