Coimbatore : Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) today hailed the Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies on Export of garments and Made ups (RoSCTL) by discontinuing the existing Rate of State Levies (ROSL) scheme for both Apparel and Made ups, terming it as the need of the hour to garment exports.
Reacting to the notification issued in this regard by Textile Ministry yesterday, TEA President, Raja M Shanmugham said he has been requesting the Centre to increase ROSL by taking into account all embedded taxes, both Central and State to support the knitwear garment exports.
The new RoSCTL rate will enhance the competitiveness, which is need of the hour to sustain in the global market and the announcement has come at a time, when the knitwear garment exporting units are undergoing pricing pressure and stiff competition from the countries like Vietnam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan apart from China, he said
