Veteran CPI leader and the general secretary of the AITUC, Gurudas Dasgupta said today that there appeared to be some understanding between the Congress and the Left parties in West Bengal, for the coming assembly polls.
While talking to the reporters at the Coimbatore airport, Dasgupta said, “There appears to be some understanding.” He however refused to elaborate on his comment. He is here in Coimbatore to participate in the 41st All India Conference of AITUC beginning tomorrow.
Dasgupta said that among the issues to be discussed at the meet are inflation, the anti-workers economic policies of the centre, and communalism.
To a question on stalling the functioning of the Parliament, he replied, “It is them who have to answer.”
To another question on how the politicians in Tamil Nadu are, Dasgupta quipped, “Politicians are the same everywhere. Is there something special about politicians in
Tamil Nadu?”
