Coimbatore : A septuagenarian, convicted and sentenced for sexually assaulting a minor girl some three years ago, died in the Government Hospital on Friday.
Subban (77) of Sathyamangalam in Erode district, was arrested under POCSO Act for sexually assaulting a minor girl and sentenced and lodged in Central Jail here in 2016.
He complained of uneasiness two days ago and was admitted to the Government Hospital here. He died in the early hours due to age-related illness, police said.
