The candidates – sitting member A. Navaneethakrishnan, former union minister S.R. Balasubramanian, R. Vaithilingam and A. Vijayakumar of AIADMK, T.K.S. Elangovan and R.S. Bharathi of DMK – would be declared elected unopposed on June 3, the last date for withdrawal of nomination.

The retiring members are A. Navaneethakrishnan, A.W. Rabi Bernard and P.H. Paul Manoj Pandian of the AIADMK, K.P. Ramalingam and S. Thangavelu of the DMK and Sudarsana Natchiappan of the Congress.
