Anxious moments prevailed at Tirupur Railway Station this evening, when people noticed smoke emanating from a compartment of Jammu Tawi Express.

As the train stopped at the station around 4 p.m., smoke was seen coming from the second compartment, leading to panic in the platform and also compartment.

The railway staff detected the smoke which was a result of short circuit and rectified the fault. The train halted for nearly 30 minutes at the platform, police said.
