The Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) has appealed to the Union Textiles Minister, Smriti Irani, to announce new guidelines and procedures for the recently announced special package for the garment sector.
Congratulating her on assuming charge as the new textile minister, TEA president A. Shaktivel urged her to look into the package announced by the Prime Minister recently.
Shaktivel said Ms. Irani’s talent coupled with grasping the issues expediently would certainly help to address the issues and come out with new strategies for the growth of textile industry that provides more employment next to agriculture in our country.
He requested her to announce the guidelines and procedures at the earliest, as the exporters were confident to fulfill the aim of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and reach the envisaged export target of $30 billion from$17 billion in the next three years and also provide employment to one crore people, especially women.
The association also sent a message wishing Ajay Tamta, who has taken charge as Union Minister of State for Textiles.
