Police today arrested a businessman for allegedly providing shelter to a murder accused. However, his wife has denied the charge. She has submitted a petition to the Deputy Inspector of Police saying her husband has been framed.

K. Singaravelan, who runs a TV showroom in Coimbatore, was arrested in Dindigul. Police were on look out for him for allegedly providing shelter to an accused in the Sulur murder case. Singaravelan was absconding for the last few days.

In her petition, Geetharajan, his wife, said her husband has no connection with the murderers. “We have sought the court’s help. The case was scheduled for hearing tomorrow,” she said and added that police might even shoot her husband to divert the case.

“They have also arrested two more persons along with my husband. My husband’s whereabouts are not known. I have sought the DIG’s help,” she said.
