Tamil Maanila Congress president, G.K. Vasan today accused both the Tamil Nadu and Kerala governments of failing to take constructive steps with regard to the contentious Mullai Periyar Dam issue.

Talking to reporters in Coimbatore, he said that the governments should immediately take steps to find an amicable solution, considering the seriousness of the issue, as it involved both agriculture and farmers, common to all the states.

On the exodus of senior leaders from his party, he said that the ones who left possessed ‘venomous mindset.’

When asked about the arrest of a suspected ISIS terrorist from West Bengal, who lived in hiding in nearby Tirupur, from West Bengal, Vasan said that it showed the failure of both state and central intelligence agencies. “The government should, at least from now, take stringent action before any further damage is done,” he said.
