TVS group, which has 50 group companies, has begun its foray into real estate developing arena by completing its first housing project ahead of schedule. It hopes to ride on the goodwill and trust built by the TVS group into the real estate sector, largely perceived to be a somewhat of a rough arena.

Chennai: At a time when the real estate sector faces uncertain future, with realty sector already down and further said to be depressed following the war on black money, Tamil Nadu’s respect industrial house, the TVS has entered the real estate developers club and completed its first project ahead of schedule.

TVS Emerald, part of the TVS group companies, has completed its Green Hills Project near Tambaram comprising 448 apartments and 120 villas spread across 18 acres, ahead of schedule is and is going to launch its second phase. “Over half the project has been sold out,” said TVS Emerald CEO R Chandamouli. Addressing a press conference here, he said the company will like to ride on the trust and goodwill of the company built over several decades into the reality sector as well.

Which is why, the TVS housing arm roped in the Building and Construction Authority (BAC) of Singapore for its Construction Quality Assessment System (CONQUAS). It ranks projects on their architectural score and is a unique workmanship quality assessment system developed by the BCA. It quantitatively measures the overall workmanship quality at the completion of construction.

“We are happy to announce that TVS Emerald Green Hills has secured the highest ever CONQUAS score by an Indian company in India. Developers across the region are increasingly using CONQUAS as a measure of workmanship quality. It helps developers overcome challenges with innovative solutions that meet design complexities, site constraints and site safety requirements.” said Choo Whatt Bin, Executive Director, BCA.

TVS Emerald’s Green Hills project comprises of 448 apartments and 120 villas spread across 18 acres with a green cover of 1100 trees. It has several features like spacious parks, a super market, ATM, medical facilities and a gymnasium.
