In a peculiar incident, the city police arrested a 44-year-old man from Virudhunagar while attempting to steal an adult cow near Ukkadam on Wednesday.

According to sources, the incident occurred when C.Kalimuthu from the Virudhunagar District had attempted to steal an adult cow which was wandering at LG thottam ABT Road in Ukkadam. However, his attempt was foiled by passers-by who caught him red handed and handed him over to the Bazaar police station. He was arrested and remanded under Section 370 of the IPC.
