Corporation Commissioner Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan today inaugurated the ‘Urgent Run Towards Open Defecation Free Coimbatore’ programme by painting a wall of one of the public toilets at Saravanpatti on the occasion of World Toilet Day.

According to sources, 22 students of Rathnam College and EMS College have been assigned to map and audit the 306 corporation toilets.

The date would be updated on Swachh app. The students would work in groups along with a sanitary supervisor, sources added.

“The Corporation is planning to build 2800 more toilets before the end of this year. It has invited corporate houses and private organisations to adopt and maintain the already built ones,” said Padmanaban, Swacch Bharat ambassador.
