Covai Post Network

Coimbatore : Police are on the lookout for a man who allegedly beat his HIV positive niece with wooden log in his house at Thondamuthur on the outskirts. As the mother of 15-year old girl died 10 years ago, after being treated for HIV, the girl was staying with her maternal uncle.

The uncle, who returned home at noon, noticed the girl sleeping on the porch and in a fit of anger hit her with a wooden log, resulting in serious head injury to her.

Hearing the screams, neighbours rushed and took her to the Government Hospital here. Police registered a case and a hunt was on to nab the uncle.
