Coimbatore : Two special VISTADOME coaches–one AC and one Non-AC–for Nilgiris Mountain Rail (NMR) were dedicated by Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal through videoconferencing from Delhi.

These coaches were made ready by Central Workshop, Golden Rock, Southern Railway.

Salient features of the Vistadome coaches include: Provision of Vistadome roof, AC with cooling/heating facility, reclining UDAY type seats, Stainless Steel floor level luggage rack, aesthetic vinyl wrapping inside and exterior of the coaches, renewed flooring and provision of LED lights, a railway release said.

Earlier, GOC workshop carried out upgradation in two NMR coaches with similar special features which were widely appreciated by the Passengers.

The coaches will be moved to NMR where the passengers will be able to view the vast expanse of the natural hills through the Vista dome view coaches during their  travel on NMR, it said.
