UDHAGAMANDALAM: The Government is taking concrete steps to prevent the man-animal conflict in Tamil Nadu, Forest Minister Dindigul S. Srinivasan said here on Friday.

Replying to a specific question on the increasing incidents of man-animal conflicts, Srinivasan said that the Government was taking steps to minimise and prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

On the demand for increasing solatium to the kin of those killed by wild animals, he said that there was a proposal to increase it.

Earlier, he inaugurated the 48-day rejuvenation camp for 52 elephants at various camps including Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and Anamalai Tiger Reserve. The camp will conclude on March 28 and the Government is spending little over Rs. 61 lakh for the camp.

Nilgiris District Collector Innocent Divya and senior forest department and district officials were present.
